Happy New Year! I hope you have had a great first half of January so far. If you want play on the best Mac poker sites in the New Year, definitely consider UB because UBOC 6 has started. UB.com is one of the best Mac poker sites for PLO. They started a unique Royal Flush promo that might remind you of a bad beat jackpot. Basically there is a progressive Royal Flush Jackpot, and players receive cash bonuses for hitting royal flushes. This is a fun way to make the Omaha tables a bit more interesting.
If you are familiar with a Lucky Ace Poker download, you will already know about the bad beat jackpot tables. The loser of a bad beat wins 50% of the jackpot, and a percentage is also given to the other players that participated in the bad beat hand. The Royal Flush promotion is very similar. 50% of the jackpot goes to the player with the royal flush, 25% goes to the players at the table where the royal flush was hit, and the other quarter is divided amongst other people playing at Jackpot tables at the same limits. A promo like this gives players more opportunities to rake in the dough than at most other poker sites!
Keep in mind that just 65% of the jackpot is awarded when someone hits a royal flush. 25% goes to start the next Jackpot and then 10% goes to UB as rake. People that prefer the Fulltiltpoker download might look down upon the fact that UB receives a fraction of the jackpot, but we can’t really expect UB to facilitate this for free.

Tournament Leaderboard
You have a lot in common with thousands of others if you chose the best Mac poker sites for MTTs. Pretty much every major poker site has tournament leaderboards, so today I will tell you about the ones found on UB. There is one big MTT leaderboard and three smaller SnG leaderboards, and each one has cash prizes to be won.
Like on other Mac poker sites, you will be ranked based on a points total. Players get leaderboard points depending on where they place in a tournament and the tournament’s prize pool. A simple formula is used to calculate points, and the same formula is used for both MTTs and SnGs.
Similar to some flash Texas Holdem sites, the site has split the MTT leaderboard into weekly, monthly, and yearly divisions. The leaderboard for the week uses your best 10 MTT results, and $1k is awarded to the person that finishes on top. You’ll need 20 good results to win the monthly leaderboard, where the total prize pool is $14k and first place is $6.5k. And then last but definitely not least, the leaderboard for the year considers your best 100 cashes, similar to the leaderboards you get with the PokerStars download. The top 50 players get entered into an exclusive $36k freeroll. 10th through 1st place receive cash. Both 1st and 2nd place also win $10,000 WSOP Main Event entries!
If you do not have much experience on US friendly poker sites, it might be beneficial to try the SnG leaderboards instead. The reason for this is that there are separate leaderboards for different stakes. If you play $20 or lower, you belong to the Diamond division. The prize pool for the week in Diamond is $1.5k while the prize pool for the month is $5k. If you play between $21 and $50 buy-ins, you fall into the Heart division. The Heart division has $3,000 weekly and $7,000 monthly. If you can stand to give up your Lucky Ace Poker download to dedicate your free hours the UB leaderboards, you might be the perfect candidate for winning the Spade division for stakes over $51. This division has a $6k prize pool for the week and a $10k prize pool for the month.
UB did a great job of making their leaderboards exciting and jam packed with great prizes. Perhaps you should get some free poker training improve your game. It is definitely worth it if you can win a Main Event seat by doing so!

Adam Levy
Those looking to play poker in the best Mac poker sites will be considering UB, so it would be good to meet another UB advocate in Adam Levy. Levy will be better known to online players as “Roothlus” since he uses that alias on all the best US poker sites. The 28 year old professional was born in New York but he has since moved away and now lives in Florida. Before he discovered poker, he made money by waiting tables while also going to school.
Levy has cashed for over $3 million on money poker sites, something most people cannot say for themselves. An impressive fact regarding Levy’s online winnings is that there isn’t a single tournament win that surpasses $387.5k, yet his winnings are still well over the $3 million mark. This goes to show his impressive consistency as a player. His ever impressive $387k cash was earned by competing in an FTOPS tournament on his Fulltiltpoker download a year ago. His next largest cash is quite a bit smaller: he won $80,250 for placing 2nd in Full Tilt’s $750k Guarantee. His largest PokerStars cash was back in 2006 in the Sunday Million for almost $57k.
This UB pro has some live cashes in casinos for USA players to be proud of, as well. He had his largest cash ever in this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event after barely missing the final table in 12th place. His consolation prize was $635,011 for his finish. Before this Main Event finish, his largest prize in a live tournament was for $266,445 in 2008.
When Levy plays online poker, he follows a fairly consistent routine. He prefers to get out of bed at least an hour prior to competing on download free poker sites since he likes to do a couple things before getting on his computer. He knows his day has gone right so far when he has had his shower and early breakfast. He likes to listen to music while he plays although you might be surprised to learn his genre of preference: techno. Once his day is over and he has had enough US friendly poker sites for one day, he plays video games to let off some steam and just relax. Judging by his results, it would appear that Levy’s schedule is working just fine for him.

Card Player 2009 Player of the Year
Baldwin sometimes plays tournaments on US friendly poker sites, but he’s known for his live poker cashes which exceed $3 million. He has one bracelet on his list of wins, earning over $500k in Event 34, a $1,500 NL Hold’em event. While he didn’t make any final tables this year in the WSOP, he still had some nice cashes. He had his best cash in the Main Event where he placed 59th and received $138k in return.
This young tournament star enjoys US poker rooms and can also be found playing the big WPT events. He had a great year last year, first finishing 3rd in a Legends of Poker event in August and then winning a Five Diamond World Poker Classic event near the end of the year. The previous year in 2008 he won Event 2 in the Five Star World Classic Poker Classic, winning a healthy $149k. I wonder if Baldwin ever uses Bingo codes to get his mind off the pressure of playing tournaments?
Since he is a UB spokesman, Baldwin plays the rest of his poker on download free poker sites. According to Baldwin, the main difference between online and live games is that online games are much more aggressive preflop. He will attempt to win pots without showdown online whereas live he is happy to see multi-way flops.
Baldwin was the Card Player 2009 “Player of the Year”, so I’m happy for any advice Baldwin is willing to give. If you are new to real money poker, be sure to go through all your options. Brandon Cantu
The decision to go pro came in 2006 in Vegas once he won over $750k for 1st place in a WSOP event. An interesting fact about that bracelet win is that it was his very first major tournament. Since then, he has cashed several more times in casinos for US players. Where WSOP is concerned, he won a second bracelet in 2009 in Event 48, a PLO tournament, for $228,967. His PLO win came a few days after a 2nd place finish in Event 39. He earned an impressive $403,951 in that NLHE event. His best Main Event finish was in 2008 when he took 20th for $257k.
Cantu also won $1 million for first place in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star championship. In that tournament he also busted 6 bounty players good for $5k a piece! As such, he got the nickname “The Bounty Hunter”. It would make sense if the six pros he busted during that event wished he were at home doing some online casino gambling so that he couldn’t knock them out!
Where live tournaments are concerned, Cantu has almost $3.5 million in cashes. He’s on Team UB, though, so you’d think that he must sometimes play poker in online casino USA sites. Because he prefers live poker, he actually doesn’t download free poker all that often. When he does play, though, it’s obviously mostly on UB. His UB screen name is “brandoncantu”, and he enters MTTs and high stakes cash games.
If you asked Cantu how you can see better tournaments results, he would tell you to be more aggressive. If you’d like to follow in his footsteps, here’s some advice for you: don’t download roulette. It would be way more worthwhile to get on a poker site and start building a bankroll.

Tiffany Michelle
The 25 year old female player was born in Los Angeles. She attended UCLA for a theatre program, and she has acted on several television programs like ER and The Amazing Race. Her resume also features song writing and a beauty pageant win. She was quick to seek further attention after she discovered cards in casinos for US players. She became the commentator for WSOP coverage on a satellite radio station, and then she hosted tournaments for PokerNews.
Michelle plays tournaments of all buy-ins on UB, one of the best Mac poker sites online. Her favorite events are probably those with bounties and also deep stack tournaments. Since she enjoys deep stacks, it’s no surprise to learn that she sometimes plays cash games. Instead of playing Internet slots like a lot of other poker pros, she enjoys playing cash games at NL midstakes tables when she’s not busy.
Michelle is definitely taking advantage of her fortunate situation. Players everywhere speculated why she wanted to represent UB instead of a PokerStars bonus code, but it seems to have panned out for her. She has a long way to go to catch up to the likes of Annie Duke, but she’s very young and most certainly has plenty of time!

Joe Sebok
Tournament poker is Sebok’s bread and butter, and his live tournament winnings total almost $2 million. While he’s cashed in the WSOP 15 times, he’s still waiting for his first bracelet. His best showing in the Main Event has been 56th place, which happened in 2009. Because he plays primarily tournaments, it makes you wonder if he ever enters events on a Full Tilt Poker download or uses a PokerStars bonus code every so often. If he does, I’m sure he’s not the only UB representative doing things like that!
Sebok has gotten quite involved in the poker community. He founded PokerRoad.com with Greenstein, a website that features poker-related radio, TV, and blogs. Gavin Smith, another professional player, helps him host the PokerRoad Radio. Maybe you have watched the Internet show “Prop Bets”, a show in which Sebok and Smith can be seen competing with each other in random prop bets in activities like kick boxing and eating. The Internet show developed after Sebok lost a prop bet that forced him to wear 3 different costumes to the WSOP ME in 2006, including a bear with a diaper, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. He definitely knows how to have fun, and you can see that Sebok does not always use poker downloads and live events to rake in the dough.
Sebok is pretty young, so his accomplishments can only increase as the years continue to roll on. He’s only been playing professionally for 5 years now, and it’s definitely possible that he’ll win a WSOP bracelet in the next year or two. He improved his game online when he was new to poker, so if you strive to become a great player, you should do the same. I’m sure that Sebok would discourage you from a UB or Party Poker download bonus, though. He wants you to represent UB too!

Annie Duke
Duke began representing UB and the UB referral code ten years ago back in 2000. Her poker portfolio is rather impressive, since her live MTT poker winnings total over $4 million. Her best finish in the WSOP Main Event was tenth place in the year 2000. To make it more impressive, she was pregnant with her third kid at the time! She has received prize money in the World Series an impressive 37 times for a total of $1.1 million, and she won the winner-take-all invitational WSOP Tournament of Champions for $2 million in 2004.
Aside from the fact she’s a woman, there are a lot of other reasons Duke is famous in the poker world. In 2004 when Ben Affleck won the California State Poker Championship, he actually received poker tutoring from Duke. She was the first poker player to talk on the Colbert Report, the game show 1 vs 100 was lucky enough to have her appear 3 times, and Deal or No deal hosted her once. She also participated in Celebrity Apprentice just last year where she placed 2nd behind Joan Rivers even after collecting three times more money for her charity of choice, Refugees International. Include the fact that she’s on UB’s Best Damn Poker Show, and you have to wonder how she ever has time to play any poker hands.
Duke proudly supports US compatible casinos and player rights. She publically dislikes the restriction that players are not able to represent poker sites on their clothes during some live MTTs. Regarding the subject, she boldly said, “We are not even slaves. We're people paying to pick the cotton.” There’s no doubt that Duke has taken advantage of the fact she’s one of a few women in the game, but she disagrees with the fact that there are tournaments open only to women. Regarding the subject, she said, "Poker is one of the few sports where a woman can compete on a totally equal footing with a man, so I don't understand why there's a ladies only tournament." It doesn’t come as a surprise that as a result, she refuses to receive hands in women only events.

Phil Hellmuth
Would you be more likely to get a UB download and take advantage of a UB referral code if you knew that UB’s most famous pro player holds some amazing tournament poker records? It’s most impressive to know that he has earned bracelets in 11 WSOP events, the first won when he was just 24 years old in 1989 and the most recent one won in 2007. He also holds the record for the most WSOP cashes with 75 and the largest number of final tables with 41. He ranks in the top ten for total WSOP winnings with $6.1 million won so far in his career. Many people are surprised when they find out that Hellmuth has never won a World Poker Tour (WPT) event despite 3 final table appearances. He’s cashed 11 times in WPT events and his total winnings is $691k. All these records and cashes allowed him to be brought into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2007.
While Hellmuth’s MTT poker success certainly allowed him to become a famous figure in the poker world, people probably know him more for his major overreactions and outbursts at the poker felt. It’s clear he thinks incredibly highly of himself, and it seems like he just loses control when he suffers some bad luck. He often mocks and bashes those that play in ways he deems less than optimal, insulting them with childish names and calling them stupid. In the 2008 WSOP he actually received a penalty because he wouldn’t stop abusing a player after he showed the table that he’d caused Hellmuth to fold a hand preflop with suited rags. His personality and countless shenanigans have earned him a special nickname: “The Poker Brat”.
You have to admire the fact that Hellmuth has taken advantage of his strange nick name, however. He currently has a clothing and merchandise line at www.PokerBrat.com, and if you want to get into his head, you can read his thoughts in the book titled Poker Brat. It’s to be expected that he’s made instructional DVDs, but you might be surprised to find out that he also helped make a mobile phone poker game. He writes a newspaper column called “Hand of the Week” about interesting poker hands, and he blogs for both CardPlayer and UB. Add all his TV appearances and coaching opportunities, and it’s clear that Hellmuth is cashing in at more than just playing cards.
Online players, especially American players, get tons of information regarding Full Tilt or PokerStars, but you’d be mistaken to not consider playing at UB too. You can join the UB pros and earn your UB bonus at the same time. Players everywhere dream of accomplishing as much as Hellmuth has accomplished in his career, but you can’t to this without plenty of practice in US poker rooms.
